2018 | BKB Precision participates in Big Science Business Forum 2018

From 26 till 28 February the Big Science Business Fporum will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the first event of its kind where the 9 largest European Big Science organisations (such as CERN, ESA, ESO, ITER) and 9 "Affiliated" Big Science organisations (including SKA) join together and where representatives from science and industry will bend on the future of Big Science.

Themes

Various themes will pass by, such as long-term cooperation between science and industry, the position of SMEs and the financing and support from governments for the development of large, international and complex scientific infrastructures. All stakeholders involved will be present In Denmark. The Dutch industry is well represented on BSBF. Currently, 17 Dutch companies are registered and 15 participants from science, Governments, and knowledge institutes are present.

Participation BKB Precision

It is the first time that BKB Precision will participate. " At the moment we are already an accredited supplier of CERN. They gave us their high-quality stamp of approval. But we would like to expand to other "big science" organizations seeking the possibilities of plastic machining, "said Mannes Weshuis, Managing Director.

Meet & Match

Netherlands also organizes a special "meet & match" meeting along with our Danish and Swedish colleagues. This meet and greet will take place in the afternoon of Tuesday 27 February, in which the companies and other stakeholders from the three countries can speak each other in an informal setting and possibly start to cooperation initiatives. The Dutch Ambassador will host here.

At this meeting the "Partners in Business" (PIB) initiative will be launched officially. This initiative is aimed to encourage cooperation between companies that want to perform commands for large-scale scientific infrastructure, in particular for CERN, ITER and ESRF.
